Linkr API
The Linkr API was introduced in Linkr 2.2, to allow for different types of links. At the click of a button, editors can link files, articles, menu items and contacts. The thing about Joomla! is that it is used for just about any type of Web Site, from personal blogs to corporate Web Sites. As a result, there is a vast array of components and modules that exist to expand the functionality of the CMS. The goal of the Linkr API is to make linking to anything as easy as linking to files, articles, menu items or contacts... at the click of a button.

Linkr 2.1 was released today, with many bug fixes and new features. The front end button has been enabled again and works flawlessly. Linkr's primary function is still to make linking articles a walk in the park, without having to mess with article IDs and Itemids. With Linkr 2.0, it was possible to link to menu items and contacts in addition to articles. Linkr 2.1 brings some improvements to the older features, and adds the ability to link PDFs, Word documents, and all kinds of files.
